RULES AND REQUIREMENT
- New York Open Music Festival 2025 will be held live virtually between May 16-18th, 2025.
- NYOMF competition is open for all nationalities.
- The competition is divided into the following categories:

A. Educational Composer
a. Ages 5-8 b. Ages 9-11 c. Ages 12-14 d. Ages 15-17 B. Open Music a. Ages 5-8 b. Ages 9-11 c. Ages 12-14 d. Ages 15-17 C. Amateur Adult Pianists (ages 18 and up) D. Ensemble Categories (Duet or Trio)- based on the oldest kid in the group a. Ages 5-10 b. Ages 11-17 |
4. All applications must be received by March 31st, 2025.
5. Students entering in the Educational Composer category must choose pieces from the list of composers that are provided. Failure to perform a piece from the one of the listed composers will result in disqualification.
6. The solo application fee ($85) is non-refundable. Early registration fee (before March 1, 2025) is $75. Late registration is accepted. The ensemble application fee is $100/ensemble and an early registration fee is $90/ensemble.
7. The competition is open to the public and the date of contestant’s performance will be announced.
8. You acknowledge all competition rules and regulations by applying for this competition.
9. All judging results are final.
10. Memorization of your music is required (except Ensemble Categories) but repeats are not required.
11. First prize winner, second prize winner, third prize winner and honorable mentions will be chosen and awarded medals at the discretion of the judges in each categories.
12. The Winners will be chosen to perform for our winner concerts. The winner concerts will be open to the public and no ticket purchases will be necessary.
